Patrick Ryan studied Business & Economics at the University of Wolverhampton and has worked in the education sector for the last 20+ years, enjoying the challenging and fast paced nature of teaching in inner city schools of the West Midlands.

Passionate about the opportunities than can come from a good education and a firm believer that education is the passport to our future Patrick has worked and supported students from a range of backgrounds and walks of life to fulfil their potential.

A proud and active member of his teaching trade union Patrick has been involved at local, regional and national level supporting colleagues and helping shape his trade union’s policy strands through his role as his area’s Equality Officer.

Recently Patrick won a Teaching award for his work on improving community cohesion amongst his local communities and those families recently relocated from European countries through his project of connecting classrooms, students, staff and parents together by linking and visiting schools in Hungary with schools in the West Midlands.

A devoted family man, Patrick has been married to his wife for 25 years and has two children aged 21 & 18, his children are competitive swimmers and to support their sporting hobbies Patrick is the vice chairman of their local swimming club. He is also a helper at his son’s scouting group and daughter’s tennis club.

In recent times Patrick created this blog which is now is now shared with educational professionals in over 120 countries and is visited regularly by thousands of people every month.
